GEWC Juniors

Run Thursdays and Saturdays.  The league will have 23 sessions on Thursdays and approx 15 sessions on Saturdays.

League Information:
Participation for the Junior Program is open to all youth up to and including 20 years of age. There is a combination of instruction, led by qualified coaches and instructors, and game playing. We welcome juniors with no curling experience as well as juniors who have previous experience.

Required Equipment:
Juniors are expected to bring a clean pair of runners (no street shoes are permitted on the ice). Dress warmly in loose, clean clothing. Change rooms are available at the club as well as locker rentals. The Golden Ears Winter Club Proshop carries a number of items that can be purchased once a junior is ready to upgrade equipment

This season we welcome Kaelen Coles-Lyster and Thomas Reed as our Junior Coordinators.

The first official Junior practice will be on Thursday September 23rd from 4:30pm-6:00pm.

This year, the Junior program will be held every week from September 23rd to early March on:

Thursdays from 4:30pm-6:00pm

Saturdays from 9:30am-11:00am. 

There are some days that there is no Junior Curling due to other events at the club. These dates will be shared via email to the participants.

The first 8 weeks will focus on building up skills for new and returning players and then the kids will transition into game play.

AGAIN, dress appropriately.

It is very cold out on the ice! Please wear/bring the following items to each curling practice:

  • Warm active pants or track pants (please no zippers or anything lose that could damage the ice)
  • Tuque and gloves
  • Warm sweater or jacket
  • Clean running shoes
  • Face mask – to be worn at all times

Grippers and brooms are available for those who do not have them.

Please arrive by 4:15pm on Thursdays and 9:15am on Saturdays so we can warm-up before hitting the ice!

Cost For Entire Season September to March

$150 plus the CurlBC/Curling Canada Fee ($20) and the Facility Fee ($25)
